Veronica Jatsek
Women’s Track & Field, 2006-08
Despite spending only three seasons with the Buckeyes, Veronica Jatsek left her mark on the program and its record books. Upon her graduation in 2008, Jatsek held the Ohio State record in the women’s weight throw – a record that stood for 11 years. She currently ranks second in the women’s weight throw and fourth in the women’s hammer throw among the program’s all-time leaders.
Jatsek was a three-time USTFCCCA First Team All-American, finding herself among the top eight in the country in both the weight throw (2007, 2008) and hammer throw (2007) at the NCAA Championships. The former Big Ten Championships record holder (2007 hammer throw) captured a trio of Big Ten titles, winning the weight throw in 2008 and the hammer throw in 2007 and 2008.
