- The Terrapins scored the opening goal in the opening minute when a blast by Joseph Umberto Picotto got by Ohio State keeper Max Trejo before hitting defender Nick McHenry just inside the goal line. The play was reviewed but the goal stood as called for the 1-0 Maryland lead.
- Maryland then doubled its lead on a penalty kick in the 67' after the Buckeyes were called for a foul just to the right of the Ohio State goal. Sadam Masereka converted on the PK for the 2-0 lead.
- The Terrapins scored on a header by Kenny Quist-Therson in the 76' and added one more in the 86' on a shot from out front by Henry Bernstein.
- The match against the Terrapins was the third of four-consecutive games against opponents ranked among the Top 25 in the United Soccer Coaches Poll.
