Buckeye Trio Notches Individual Career-Highs in Digs in Friday’s Pink Match

The Buckeyes fell to the Fighting Illini on Friday in four sets.
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women's volleyball team (3-12, 0-7 B1G) fell in four sets (22-25, 25-20, 21-25, 24-26) to RV Illinois (11-5, 6-1 B1G) on Friday evening inside the Covelli Center in the pink match.
Illinois used a late run in the first set to earn a 25-22 set win. Ohio State evened the match at one set apiece by winning the second set by a 25-20 margin. Illinois took a tight third set by a 25-21 margin to gain the match advantage. The Fighting Illini closed the match with the final two points to win the fourth set by a 26-24 mark.

- S1: Illinois opened scoring before each team put together a 3-0 run. The score was tied at points three through 10 before Ohio State used a 5-1 run to take a 15-11 lead into the media timeout. The Buckeyes led by as many as five points at 17-12 before a 3-0 Illini run prompted an OSU timeout. Illinois used a 5-0 run to take a 20-19, its first lead since 4-3, and held the lead through the end of the set, capturing a 25-22 win.
- S2: The Fighting Illini again scored first in a set that was tight early, producing seven ties as the score reached 9-9. Ohio State held the 15-12 advantage leading into the media timeout. The Buckeyes held a lead of at least three points down the stretch and evened the match with a 25-20 set win on a kill from Reese Wuebker.
- S3: The third set was again tight early before Ohio State built a 12-9 lead. Illinois answered with a 3-0 run to tie the set at 12. The teams traded points going into the media timeout as the Buckeyes held the 15-14 advantage. The Buckeyes gained a slight advantage in the race to 20 points, leading by a 20-18 mark, before the Fighting Illini tied the set at 21. Illinois won the set by a 25-21 mark, scoring the final six points.
- S4: Illinois scored first in the set, though the score was close early as the Fighting Illini didn't lead by more than two points until 10-7. The Buckeyes tied the set at 10 after a timeout and the teams traded points until back-to-back OSU points gave the Buckeyes a 19-17 lead before Illinois tied the set at 20. Ohio State fought off a pair of Illinois match points to tie the set at 24 but the Fighting Illini scored the final two points to end the match with a 26-24 set win.
- This is the fifth time this season and second time in conference play that the Buckeyes have totaled at least 10 blocks as a team. Ohio State had 11.0 blocks today.
- This is the second time this season that Ohio State has had three players with 10 or more digs apiece.
- Olivia Hasbrook recorded 10 or more digs for the ninth time this season, finishing the match with a career-high 24 digs. This was her third match in 2025 with 20+ digs.
- Reese Wuebker reached double figure kills for the ninth time this season, totaling 20 kills tonight – her second match with at least 20 kills.
- Mia Stahler totaled at least 10 digs for the third time as she tied her career-high 13 digs today.
