COLUMBUS, Ohio – No. 25 Ohio State scored twice within the first two minutes and would go on to collect a 4-2 victory at Rutgers on Thursday evening in Piscataway.

The win improves the Buckeyes to 3-1-5 in Big Ten play and 7-2-6 overall.

Ava Greco scored just 1:12 into the match with a nice right-footed shot. Amanda Schlueter then made it 2-0 with a goal just 27 seconds later. That marked the two quickest to start a game in program history.

Sophomore Jadin Bonham scored the first of her two goals on the night in the 19th minute off a pass from Greco and Nette-Nina Hiltunen. The Buckeyes would take that 3-0 lead into halftime.

Early in the second half, senior goalkeeper Molly Pritchard stepped up to play a ball and made contact with a Rutgers attacker. She received a red card and would miss the rest of the match. Rutgers took advantage and cut into the deficit in the 62nd minute with a goal.

Bonham then stole momentum back and capped her career night with a goal in the 65th minute. The Buckeyes then controlled the pace the rest of the way, only surrendering a late goal in the 87th minute to make the final score 4-2. This was the first multi-goal game of Bonham’s career.

Prior to Thursday night, Ohio State had scored just two goals in 13 previous matches against Rutgers and Thursday’s win was the first all-time for the Buckeyes against Rutgers.
