Team opened season at home Sunday
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men's and women's fencing programs opened the dual season with 4-0 records in the OSU Duals Sunday in French Field House.

Ohio State will be back in action Nov. 8-9 when it hosts the Elite Invitational Nov. 8-9. Admission and parking are free to the event, which features many of the top teams in the NCAA.

The Buckeye Women
- The women downed Purdue 26-1, Michigan 27-0, Cleveland State 24-3 and Wayne State 18-9.
- The foil and sabre squads were undefeated, with epee 3-1.
- Women's sabre did not drop a point, compiling a 36-0 record. Natalia Botello was 7-0 to pace the squad, with Arlow Wiggers and Grace Fan both 5-0.
- Women's epee was 29-7. Sally Fan, Gloria Klughardt and Julia Semikin were all 5-2 to lead the Buckeyes.
- Women's foil posted a 30-6 record, led by newcomer Maria Cojocari who was 3-1.
The Buckeye Men
- The men opened the day with a 25-2 victory over Purdue, followed by a 24-3 win over the OSU Club Team, a 25-2 defeat of Michigan and a 26-1 win against Wayne State.
- All three weapons were undefeated on the day, dropping just eight total points.
- Men's foil was 35-1. Solin Li notched an 11-0 mark, with Lorenzo Mion 9-1 and Mitchell Huth 9-0.
- The men's sabre squad was 34-2 in the OSU Duals, paced by Samuel Rightler and Carter Berrio who were both 9-0.
- Men's epee compiled a 31-5 mark, with Sami Boumedienne 10-2 and Viktor Kulcsar 8-1 to lead the squad.
