
Kameron Nelson Named Big Ten Gymnast of the Week

This is the second time in three weeks that Nelson has earned this weekly honor.
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Big Ten Conference announced its men's gymnastics weekly awards on Tuesday. Senior all-arounder Kameron Nelson was named Big Ten Gymnast of the Week for the second time this season and third time in his career.
Nelson earned two event wins at the Stanford Open to lead the Buckeyes to their highest team score of the season (323.000) and a team win against Stanford and Cal. Nelson began his day with a season-best 14.600 to win the floor competition – the highest floor score in the country this season. His second win of the meet came on vault as he tied his season-best 14.550 on the event. Nelson also contributed to the team score on rings.
Nelson has won both the floor and vault titles at each of the Buckeyes' three meets this season. He leads the country on floor (14.050), ranks second on vault (14.400) and 10th in the all-around (77.100) this season.
The Buckeyes are back in the Covelli Center this Sunday as they host a dual meet against No. 1 Oklahoma at 1 p.m. The meet will be broadcast on B1G+. Admission and parking for all home meets is free.
