Teams face off Friday and Saturday in University Park
The Basics
- The No. 9/8 Ohio State men's hockey team is back in action with two Big Ten games at Penn State this weekend.Â
- The teams will meet at 7 p.m. Friday and 5 p.m. Saturday in Pegula Ice Arena in University Park, Pa.
- The games will be streamed through B1G+. Ohio State Radio will carry both games (1460 AM, Ohio State Buckeyes app and website) and live stats will be available through OhioStateBuckeyes.com.
- Ohio State, 15-6-1 this season with an 8-4-0 2-1-0 (23 points) B1G ledger, is coming off a bye week and last played Jan. 10-11, splitting a series with Minnesota in Columbus. Penn State is 10-10-2 overall this year and has a 1-9-2 0-1-1 (7 points) B1G mark. Penn State swept Canisius at home last weekend.
- Ohio State leads the all-time series with Penn State, 25-22-4, including a 10-8-2 record in University Park.Â
- The last matchup on Nittany Lion home ice was Jan. 26-27, 2024, with Penn State winning both games, 4-3
- Earlier this season, the squads faced off in Columbus Dec. 5-6, with Ohio State posting a sweep (4-0, 4-2).
- Among current Buckeyes, Patrick Guzzo is first with 20 games played against Penn State, recording a 2-3-5 line.Â
- Joe Dunlap has skated in 19 games vs. the Nittany Lions, leading the current Buckeyes with five goals and nine points vs. PSU.Â

- Seven Buckeyes have double-digit points, led by Fontaine with 24. Fontaine is first with 11 goals and Hansen-Bukata has a team-best 18 assists.Â
- The series at Penn State starts a stretch of 12 consecutive Big Ten games for the Buckeyes over the next six weeks to close out the regular season.
- The Buckeyes will return home for a Thursday-Friday series vs. No. 1-ranked Michigan State next week.Â
