
Buckeyes Victorious in Season Opener

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State artistic swimming team opened its season Saturday at the annual Zero Waste Invite. The Buckeyes hosted Michigan and competed duet and trio routines, taking the top spots in both.
In the duet competition, the Buckeyes took first through fifth place. 2024 Olympic silver medalists Ruby Remati and Keana Hunter took first in the duet competition with a 133.2708. Lonnie Corbeil and Janneke Driven placed second (106.8875) and Sarah Levaro and Ayla O'Neil placed third (95.6333). Sisters Daniella and Gabriella Molan Arango placed fourth (88.275). Scarlett Finn and Emma spot rounded out the Buckeye sweep (86.1917).
The Buckeyes also took the top five spots in the trio competition. Senior Marian Catahan swam with newcomers Natalie Smith and Nathalia Valdez to place first in the trio competition with a 110.8271. Hannah Heffernan, Hunter and Remati placed second (109.4083). Rikki Evans, Charlotte Gray and Maddie Romney placed third (87.7782) to complete the all-Buckeye podium.
