COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 16 Ohio State women's gymnastics team opened its season at the Sprouts Farmers Market Collegiate Quad Saturday evening in Oklahoma City, Okla. from the Paycom Center. The Buckeyes finished third with a score of 196.425.

No. 10 UCLA won the session with a 197.550, followed by No. 7 Kentucky with a 196.500. No. 8 Arkansas took fourth with a 195.875.

Redshirt junior Tory Vetter won a share of the all-around title, tying Arkansas' Joscelyn Roberson. The Hilliard, Ohio native finished the meet with a 9.900 on vault, a 9.875 on floor and a 9.850 on uneven bars and beam.

Overall, 11 of the Buckeyes' routines finished among the top 10 scores on the respective apparatuses. Courtney McCann's 9.875 on beam and Vetter's 9.900 on vault and 9.850 on uneven bars were a team-high fifth overall in scoring across the session. Â

Ohio State gymnasts scored two 9.900s in the season opener. In addition to Vetter's vault performance, freshman Rylee Guevara recorded the team's first 9.900 of the season in her first collegiate routine on floor.

Guevara, who competed on vault and beam along with floor, was one of four student-athletes who made her Buckeye debut on Saturday. Freshman JJ Coleman competed on vault and floor, sophomore Kate Parks competed on uneven bars, and Cameron Smith competed on vault and beam.

The Buckeyes' top scoring event of the meet was vault with a score of 49.300. Vetter's 9.900 led the way for the team. Rookies Guevara and Smith went 9.875 and 9.850, respectively. Kaitlyn Grimes added a 9.850 and Sidney Washington's 9.825 from the lead off spot was the fifth score counted for Ohio State in the rotation.
