COLUMBUS, Ohio – No. 21 Ohio State (4-0-1) scored twice in the second half to down visiting Xavier (2-1-3) 3-1 Sunday at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.

How It Happened
Senior Michael Adedokun scored on a blast from outside the box in the 14' to give Ohio State a 1-0 lead early. Freshman David Ajagbe got the assist, his first of his career. Adedokun has three goals this season, six as a Buckeye and 10 career scores.

The Musketeers tied the match at 1-all in the 49' on a goal by Jack Bilyeo from an assist from Cooper Forcellini.

It did not take long for Ohio State to regain the lead when in the 55' David Wrona found a cross from Adedokun and put it away for his first career score as a Buckeye. He had five scores while playing at Wake Forest (2020-23).

Ohio State played the final 32 minutes a man up after Xavier's Ernest Mensah Jr. was assessed a red card in the 58'.

Marko Borkovic added a goal for the Buckeyes in the 78' off a long lead pass from Nick Skubis to solidify the Ohio State win.

Pa,trick McLaughlin got the win for the Buckeyes in goal, his third of the season. He played all 90 minutes and recorded four saves.

Sophomore Andre Roberts made his first appearance of the season after missing the first four contests with injury. Roberts earned a spot on the Big Ten All-Freshman team in 2023.
