Weekly highlight of the student-athletes behind the major moments in Ohio State Athletics
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Week in and week out, Buckeye student-athletes raise the standard of excellence set at Ohio State, whether that be in competition, in the classroom or in the community. 'Buckeye Spotlight' recognizes student-athletes who had noteworthy accomplishments both in contests and beyond the box score.

- In his first official race for the cross country squad, Agnew was second, leading the Buckeyes to the team title at the Tommy Evans Invitational hosted by Akron.
- Agnew was one of seven Buckeye men in the Top 10, as he finished the 6K in 18:13.1.
- The race allowed the Buckeyes the chance to race on the course that will host this year's NCAA Great Lakes Regionals.
- The Buckeyes will return to action Sept. 20 in the Roy Griak Invitational in Minneapolis.
- Freshman forward Jadin Bonham assisted on the Buckeyes' goal in the 1-1 draw with South Carolina last Thursday.
- That marked her third assist of the season and her third consecutive match with a point.
- Bonham has started all four matches so far this season and has helped the Buckeyes to an undefeated start to the year at 3-0-1.
- Sophomore middle blocker Eloise Brandewie was a threat at the net in the Buckeyes' opening weekend at the Dayton Flyer Invitational in which they went 2-0. Brandewie led the Buckeye block with 1.57 blocks/set on the weekend. Her 11 total blocks was just one shy of the opponents' total on the weekend and she led each match in blocking.
- Brandewie tied her career-high seven blocks in the four-set win over UNI on Saturday, also totaling a career-high 12 kills and adding a pair of digs. Her seven blocks against the Panthers included the 100th block of her career.
- In the sweep of FIU, Brandewie recorded four blocks and also led the match in hitting percentage (.533) as she recorded eight kills on 15 attacks without an error.
- Brandewie was named to the All-Tournament Team.
- Scored the game-winning goal in 3-2 win over UNLV in the 2024 Wolstein Classic final
- Played 29 minutes off the bench vs. the Rebels
- Found the back of the net on his first shot of his Ohio State career
- His 31 minutes vs. SIUE in Wolstein opener is a season high
- Ohio State is back home at 7 p.m. Sunday vs. Xavier
- Smith's collegiate debut was a memorable one, as the freshman wide receiver introduced himself to the Ohio Stadium crowd with a six-catch, 92-yard game on Saturday in Ohio State's 52-6 win over Akron.
- His afternoon also included two touchdown receptions – a 16-yarder from Will Howard in the first quarter and a 9-yard reception in the second quarter.
- Smith is the first freshman receiver at Ohio State to catch two touchdowns in a game since Michael Wiley did so against Rice in 1996.
- The 92 yards receiving is fifth-most in a game by an Ohio State freshman.\
