COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State women’s soccer posted a pair of shutout victories last week and junior goalkeeper Molly Pritchard and sophomore forward Amanda Schlueter were awarded Big Ten player of the week honors.
For Pritchard, this is the second time this season that she earned Goalkeeper of the Week honors. And for Schlueter, she earns her first Offensive Player of the Week award to add to a Freshmen of the Week award from last season.
Pritchard recorded a pair of shutouts and now has three on the season and six for her career. She helped limit the second-highest scoring offense in Indiana as the Hoosiers were able to just get three shots on frame. Against Brown on Sunday, Pritchard made six saves to improve her goals-against average to 0.28.
Schlueter has had the hot hand, or foot, as of late. She assisted on the game-winning goal against Indiana and then later added a goal of her own in the 3-0 victory. She then scored a beautiful left-footed goal in the 2-0 win over Brown, giving her five goals and four assists on the year. Four of her five goals have come in the last four games.
The Buckeyes are 6-1-1 on the season and No. 5 in the first Women’s Soccer RPI of the season. They have a pair of big conference matches this week as they host Iowa on Thursday and Northwestern on Sunday.
