Tyler Sabo and Jack Vojtko both tied for 12th at 2-over par
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State Ohio State closed the Folds of Honor Collegiate with its lowest round of the week and would finish seventh in the season-opening event.
Individually, sophomores Tyler Sabo and Jack Vojtko led the way as they both finished tied for 12th at 2-over par. Vojtko played his final five holes on Wednesday at 3-under par with an eagle on the par-5 sixth and carded a 2-under 69. Sabo birdied each of his last two holes of the event to post a second-consecutive 72.
Freshman Vaughn Harber had solid collegiate debut, posting rounds of 74-72-75 and finished tied for 30th at 8-over par. Jacob Tarkany closed with a 4-over 75 while Joe Wilson IV made three birdies on his closing nine to card his lowest round of the week at 2-over 73.
The event was a tremendous tribute to all of the first responders and was a fitting way to end the tournament on Sept. 11. This season, both the men’s and women’s teams will carry a Folds of Honor bag in honor of Technical Sergeant (TSgt.) Anthony Campbell, who served with the Air Force's 932nd Civil Engineer Squadron as an explosive ordnance disposal technician.
The Buckeyes will have a couple of weeks off before heading west for The Tindall, which is being played at the Aldarra GC in Fall City, Wash., on Sept. 23-24.
