COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State graduates Robert Cash and Cannon Kingsley have been named CSC Academic All-Americans as announced by the College Sport Communicators on Wednesday.
Cash was named to the first team while Kingsley earned second team honors for the second consecutive season.
To be eligible for CSC All-America honors, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher and must be a key contributor who starts more than two-thirds of the contests or plays in 90 percent of their team’s contests.
Cash capped his historic career on top, winning the NCAA doubles title last month in Stillwater. It was a fitting end to a career that saw him record a school-record 148 doubles wins. He became part of just the third Buckeye doubles team to win a doubles national title and it was his second appearance in the final match. He finished the year with a 36-7 doubles record and a career-best 25-4 singles record this season.
Cash is a five-time OSU Scholar-Athlete and a three-time ITA Scholar-Athlete who earned his degree in chemistry with minors in epidemiology and general physiology this spring.
Kingsley once again played at the top of the Buckeyes’ lineup and became the first player in Big Ten history to earn first team All-Big Ten honors five teams. The three-time All-American finished his career with 106 singles wins and 93 doubles victories. Kinglsey joins Vincent Ng as the only two Buckeyes to be named a CSC Academic All-American in two different seasons.
In addition to their All-America honor, Cash and Kingsley earned Academic All-District honors along with Jack Anthrop and Alexander Bernard.
