COLUMBUS, Ohio – No. 1 Ohio State has advanced to the final site and will take on No. 8 Columbia in the NCAA Quarterfinals on Thursday afternoon in Stillwater, Okla. The match is scheduled for a noon ET first serve and it will be streamed on ESPN+.
- This will be the 4th meeting all-time between Ohio State and Columbia and all four meetings will have come in the NCAA Tournament. The Buckeyes have won each of the previous three meetings.
- Ohio State won 4-0 in the opening round in Columbus in 2007 and then won 4-1 in the first year of the NCAA Super Regional Round in 2019 in Columbus.
- The most recent meeting was a second-round meeting in Columbus in 2022 and the Buckeyes won that match 4-0.
- The Buckeyes have reached the final site of the NCAA Tournament for the 18th consecutive season (every year since 2006) which is the most final site appearances over that time.
- Ohio State has a record of 70-23 (.753) in this the 24th overall NCAA Tournament appearance.
- The Buckeyes advanced to the final site with a 4-1 win over No. 15 Mississippi State last Saturday in Columbus. Ohio State is 33-1 overall on the season.
- Ohio State is riding a 17-match win streak into Stillwater as the lone loss this year came at Texas on March 10.
- Columbia reached the final site with a thrilling 4-3 win over Arizona last Saturday in New York. The Lions are 23-3 on the year with their losses coming to Wake Forest, Harvard and Cornell.
- Five Buckeyes earned a spot in the NCAA singles and doubles championships later this month in Stillwater. Cannon Kingsley, Justin Boulais, JJ Tracy and Jack Anthrop will all compete in the singles draw and Tracy will join Robert Cash in the doubles draw.
- Alexander Bernard is 24-0 in dual singles matches this spring while Anthrop is 25-1 and Tracy is 27-1.
- Tracy has 225 combined wins in his career, which is seventh-most in program history. He recently won his 100th career doubles match and has a remarkable 67-10 combined record this season.
- Boulais is also just two doubles wins away from 100 in his career.
