Buckeye Hurdlers Lead OSU Performance at Gamecock Invitational

Ohio State competed at South Carolina on Saturday.
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State track & field team competed at the Gamecock Invitational on Saturday, hosted at the University of South Carolina.
Braxton Brann won his first collegiate 110m hurdles race with a time of 13.96. Janela Spencer completed the Buckeyes' sweep of the 100m/110m hurdles by running a 13.31 in the 100m hurdles.
RESULTS
- 100m: Leah Bertrand was the runner-up (11.32), leading four Buckeyes in the finals. Fatouma Conde (11.50), Nya Bussey (11.51) and Columba Effiong (11.66) finished in fourth through sixth, respectively. In the prelims, Bussey was third (11.54), Effiong was fourth (11.66), Bertrand was sixth (11.67) and Conde was ninth (11.82).
- Pole vault: The Buckeye women finished second and third as Sophie Fong cleared 3.85m / 12'7.5" and AnneMarie Moses cleared 3.65m / 11'11.75". Daniel Edwards tied for second (4.75m / 15'7") on the men's side.
- 200m: Bertrand (23.33) and Conde (23.35) finished second and third, respectively, as each ran a personal-best time. Brann finished third (20.91) on the men's side.
- 4x100m relay: Ohio State had its women relay squads finish second and third. Conde, Bussey, Effiong and Bertrand made up the A relay (44.20) and Marcia Sey, Olivia Powell, Janela Spencer and Chanler Robinson made up the B relay (45.78). The Buckeye men (Braxton Brann, Marcus Brown, DJ Fillmore and Eli Hitzhusen) made up the runner-up squad (40.60).
- 100m hurdles: Behind Spencer's win, Powell finished fourth (13.76) and Sey finished fifth (13.99). Spencer had the fastest qualifying time (13.31), while Powell was fifth (13.63) in the prelims and Sey was sixth (13.91).
- 4x400m relay: The Buckeye women's squad (Avery Clark, Effiong, Bussey, Robinson) was the runner-up (3:42.10).
- 110m hurdles: Brann was the runner-up in the prelims (14.07).
- Long jump: Brian Kellon was third (7.04m / 23'1.25") in the men's competition, while Atinuke Shittu was eighth (5.15m / 16'10.75") in the women's competition.
- 400m hurdles: Clark finished third (1:00.60).
- Triple jump: Morgan Bridges finished third (11.72m / 38'5.5") among the women, while Christian Seibert finished fifth (13.56m / 44'6") among the men.
- High jump: Shaun Miller Jr. finished third by clearing 2.01m / 6'7" on his first attempt. Â
- 400m: Robinson finished fourth (54.98) on the women's side. Shohaan Singh led the Buckeye men with a fifth-place finish and a PR (48.96).

Ohio State is scheduled to compete at the Tom Jones Memorial and the Bryan Clay Invite next weekend on Friday, April 12 and Saturday, April 13.
