Ohio State improves to 13-6 on the year and is 6-1 in the B1G
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 12 Ohio State women's tennis team moved its winning streak to six, as it defeated Penn State, 7-0, Wednesday in University Park, Pa. The Buckeyes are now 13-6 on the year, with a 6-1 B1G record.

After winning the doubles point with victories on courts one and two vs. the Nittany Lions (5-12, 4-3 B1G), Ohio State captured all six singles matches, including five in straight sets. Luciana Perry, Irina Cantos Siemers and Sydni Ratliff all posted singles and doubles wins. Audrey Spencer paired up for a doubles win and Teah Chavez and Akanksha Bhan were both victorious in singles.

The Buckeyes are off this upcoming weekend before road matches at Iowa April 12 and at Nebraska April 14.

The regular season ends with home matches against Northwestern at 4 p.m. April 19 and Illinois at noon April 21 on Senior Day. Admission and parking are free for all regular season matches in the Ty Tucker Tennis Center and Auer Tennis Complex.

How it Happened
- Courts one and two combined to lose just one game en route to the doubles point for the Buckeyes.
- On court one, Irina Cantos Siemers and Luciana Perry, ranked 28th, defeated Sofiya Chekhlystova and Yvonne Zuffova, 6-1.
- Sydni Ratliff and Audrey Spencer clinched the doubles point, as they shut out No. 73-ranked Olivia Dorner and Karly Friedland.
- With four indoor courts available, the match started with the first four singles in action.
- No. 41-ranked Perry put the Buckeyes up 2-0, as she downed Dorner, 6-3, 6-1, on court two.
- Ratliff, ranked No. 113, followed with a 6-1, 6-1 victory against Jordina Cegarra on court three.
- Shelly Bereznyak clinched the team victory with a straight set win on court four. The Buckeye won the final three games to take the first set 7-5 and overcame an early break to win the second by the same score.
- No. 15-ranked Cantos Siemers posted a shutout in the first set against Chekhlystova but then dropped the second in a tiebreaker. She took a 4-2 lead in the third and ended the set and match with a 6-4 victory.
- Ohio State posted straight-set wins on courts five and six to close out the team win.
- On court six, Akanksha Bhan topped Danielle Alamo, 6-1, 6-2.
- Teah Chavez was the final winner, downing Friedland, 6-3, 6-2, on court five.
- Bereznyak has wins in her last 11 completed matches and shares the team dual match singles wins lead with Cantos Siemers with 11 each. Spencer has eight singles dual wins, while Ratliff and Perry each have seven and Chavez has six. Bhan is 3-0 this spring.
