Buckeyes Roll Past Penn State 4-0 in B1G Quarterfinals

Ohio State will play Nebraska in the semifinals on Saturday
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Top-seeded Ohio State rolled to an easy 4-0 victory over Penn State on Friday morning in the quarterfinals of the Big Ten Tournament. The Buckeyes advance to play Nebraska in Saturday’s semifinals.
The doubles point lasted less than 25 minutes as the Buckeyes dropped just one combined game across the three matches. Robert Cash and Bryce Nakashima won 6-0 on court two while Andrew Lutschaunig and Justin Boulais won 6-1 on court one. Cannon Kingsley and JJ Tracy were leading 5-0 on court three when the point was won.
In singles, it was more of the same. Cash, Tracy, Jack Anthrop and Alexander Bernard all got out to 5-1 leads in the opening set and the Buckeyes would win all six first sets. Then it would be a race to see who would be the first three to finish.
Anthrop was the first done on court four as he won 6-2, 6-0 for his team-leading 34th victory of the season. Cash also finished with a 6-2, 6-0 victory in his match on court six to put the third point on the board. The clinching point came from Tracy on court three as he beat Nolan Ranger 6-1, 6-1 to send the Buckeyes through.
Ohio State will face Nebraska in the semifinals beginning at noon ET. The Buckeyes beat Nebraska 6-1 last weekend in Lincoln in the teams’ regular season meeting.
