COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 16 Ohio State women's tennis team closed out its regular season road schedule with a 4-1 win at Nebraska Sunday afternoon in Lincoln, Neb. The Buckeyes, on an eight-match winning streak, are now 15-6 this season, with an 8-1 B1G record.

After the Buckeyes won the doubles point vs. the Cornhuskers, Irina Cantos Siemers and Sydni Ratliff posted singles victories for a 3-1 Ohio State lead. Freshman Audrey Spencer clinched the win, as she rallied for a three-set victory. Alessia Cau and Madeline Atway teamed up for a shutout win in doubles, with Cantos Siemers and Akanksha Bhan prevailing in a tiebreaker to clinch the doubles point vs. Nebraska (11-9, 2-7 B1G).

The regular season ends with home matches against Northwestern at 4 p.m. Friday and Illinois at noon Sunday, with the Buckeyes' seniors celebrated before the match. Admission and parking are free for all regular season matches in the Ty Tucker Tennis Center and Auer Tennis Complex.

How it Happened

Ohio State captured the doubles point for the 1-0 lead vs. the Cornhuskers.
Alessia Cau and Madeline Atway got doubles started with a 6-0 shutout on court three against Isabel Adrover Gallego and Lucy Loy.
The court two tandem of Irina Cantos Siemers and Akanksha Bhan was down a break but won back-to-back games to get on serve at four-all. Each team held to force the tiebreaker. The Buckeye duo did not allow a point to win the match and seal the doubles point.
The court one match was abandoned with the teams about to start a tiebreak.
Cantos Siemers put the Buckeyes up 2-0, as she defeated Lacasse in straight sets, 6-4, 6-1, on court one.
The Huskers got on the board with a court four victory, as Adrover Gallego defeated Teah Chavez.
Sydni Ratliff put the Buckeyes a point away, winning the final eight games vs. Anfisa Danilchenko on court two for a 7-5, 6-0 victory.
Three matches remained on court, with Ohio State needing one win for the team victory.
Audrey Spencer was able to close it out, as she rallied for a three-set win. The freshman dropped the first set against Zamburek on court five, 6-4. Spencer won the second set by the same score to send the match to the decisive set. In the third, Spencer jumped out to a 4-0 lead and won the set 6-2 to clinch the team victory.
Shelly Bereznyak was on serve in the third set on court three and Akanksha Bhan was early in her third set when the remaining matches were abandoned.
Cantos Siemers and Bereznyak share the team lead with 12 dual match wins this spring, while Spencer has 10 dual victories. Ratliff has nine wins this spring. In doubles, Cau and Atway have combined for a 4-1 mark.
