COLUMBUS, Ohio – No. 1 Ohio State looks to remain undefeated as the Buckeyes head to Illinois to face the No. 11 Fighting Illini in a non-conference match on Wednesday evening. The first serve is set for 7 p.m. ET.
- This will be the first of two regular season meetings this month between Ohio State and Illinois. The teams will also meet in their Big Ten match in Columbus on Sunday, March 24.
- The Buckeyes have won 14 of the last 15 meetings with Illinois.
- Overall, Ohio State leads the all-time series with Illinois 57-54-1 and the Buckeyes are 33-14 against the Illini since Ty Tucker took over in 2000.
- Last year, the teams played four times and the Buckeyes won all four meetings, surrendering just two points in those matches. Ohio State won the non-conference matchup 6-1, won 4-0 in the National Indoors in Chicago, won 4-0 in the Big Ten regular season match and then won 4-1 in the semifinals of the Big Ten Tournament in Bloomington.

- Director of tennis Ty Tucker is in his 25th season and last week, he claimed his 700th career victory. He has a remarkable career record of 700-101 (.874) and has guided the Scarlet and Gray to 17 consecutive Big Ten regular-season titles, 14 B1G Tournament crowns and 13 seasons of 30 or more wins.
- The Buckeyes have five players ranked in the current singles rankings. JJ Tracy leads the way at No. 7. Jack Anthrop is No. 16 and Cannon Kingsley is up to a season-high No. 17. Justin Boulais is No. 32 and Alexander Bernard is No. 91.
- In doubles, Tracy and Cash are ranked No. 5 while Tracy and Bernard are No. 30.
- The Buckeyes have lost just four singles matches so far in the dual portion of the season.
- So far this season, the Buckeyes have lost the doubles point five times but has come back to win the team match with four singles wins.
- JJ Tracy recently picked-up the 200th combined victory of his career (112 singles, 89 doubles). He leads the team this season with 23 singles wins and 20 doubles wins.
- Robert Cash is just nine doubles wins shy of Peter Kobelt’s (2011-14) program record of 139 career doubles victories. Cash is 18-4 this season in doubles.
