COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State swept Indiana 7-0 on Sunday to remain undefeated in Big Ten play and improve to 22-1 on the season.
Like Friday’s win over Purdue, the win on Sunday over Indiana was the 27th consecutive win over the Hoosiers. The Buckeyes are now 4-0 in Big Ten play this season.
In doubles, the Buckeyes got a 6-2 win from Andrew Lutschaunig and Justin Boulais on court one and then a 6-4 win on court two from Robert Cash and Bryce Nakashima. Cash is now just four wins away from tying Peter Kobelt’s career doubles wins record.
Jack Anthrop and Alexander Bernard remain unbeaten in singles play this spring as both collected wins on Sunday. Anthrop won 6-1 6-1 over Ilya Tiraspolsky on court four and Bernard beat Deacon Thomas on court six 6-3, 6-1. Bernard is now 17-0 this spring and Anthrop is 16-0.
The clinching win came from senior Cannon Kingsley. The Northport, N.Y. native collected his 100th career singles win with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Facundo Yunis on court two.
Cash picked up his second win of the day with a solid 6-0, 6-4 win over Nikola Kolyachev on court four and then JJ Tracy bested Michael Andre 6-3, 6-4 on court three to make it 6-0.
The final point was decided in a good match on court one. Justin Boulais outlasted No. 55 Sam Landau 6-4, 2-6, 12-10.
The Buckeyes will remain on the road for a match next weekend at Penn State. The match is set for 4 p.m. on Friday afternoon in State College, Pa.
