
14 Buckeyes Headed to Indianapolis for NCAA Championships

COLUMBUS, Ohio – 14 members of the No. 15 Ohio State men's swimming and diving team are in Indianapolis this week to compete at the NCAA Championships March 27-30. The meet will be held at IU Natatorium and all sessions can be streamed live on ESPN+.

- The Buckeyes placed 11th at the 2023 NCAA Championships. Ohio State has finished in the top 15 for four consecutive seasons.
- Lyle Yost won the national title on the 1-meter board, becoming the first Buckeye since Patrick Jeffrey in 1988 to win an NCAA 1-meter title. Yost was the only diver at the meet to earn First Team All-American honors in all three dives (1-meter, 3-meter, platform) and he was named the CSCAA Diver of the Year following his performance.
- Yost will once again dive on the 1-meter, 3-meter and platform this year after qualifying for all three dives at NCAA Zones.
- Charlie Clark enters the 1650 free as the second-seeded swimmer. He qualified with an NCAA A standard time of 14:35.00.
- Sam Campbell, who was the Big Ten champion in the 1650 free, is the eighth-seeded swimmer in the event at NCAAs with an NCAA B cut qualifying time of 14:42.63. Campbell has been invited to swim the 500 free with an NCAA B standard seed time of 4:15.49. Campbell's NCAA B cut time of 3:43.95 also earned him an invitation to swim in the 400 IM.
- Alex Axon is the 20th-seeded swimmer in the 500 free, with a qualifying time of 4:13.90, which is an NCAA B standard time. Axon also earned an invitation to swim the 200 free with an NCAA B cut time of 1:34.64and the 1650 free with an NCAA B cut time of 15:01.79.
- Tomas Navikonis, who won the 200 free at the Big Ten Championships, is the 14th-seeded swimmer going into the event at NCAAs. He qualified with an NCAA B cut time of 1:32.01. Navikonis will also swim the 500 free with a qualifying time of 4:15.65, which is an NCAA B cut, and the 100 free with an NCAA B cut qualifying time of 42.22.
- Alex Metzler will compete in the 1650 free; he qualified with an NCAA B standard time of 14:52.69. Metzler's NCAA B cut time of 4:15.78 in the 500 free earned him an invitation to swim in the event at the NCAA Championships. He will also compete in the 400 IM with an NCAA B standard seed time of 3:44.95.
- Tristan Jankovics is the 11th-seeded swimmer in the 400 IM with an NCAA B standard time of 3:40.89. He will also take on the 200 IM. He qualified with a time of 1:42.76, which is an NCAA B cut. Jankovics was invited to swim in the 200 back with an NCAA B cut time of 1:43.62.
- Chachi Gustafson will swim in the 100 fly; he earned his invitation with an NCAA B cut time of 45.89. He was also invited to compete in the 200 back with an NCAA B standard time of 46.90 and the 200 fly with an NCAA B cut time of 1:41.47.
- Clayton Chaplin qualified to dive on the 1-meter, 3-meter and platform at NCAA Zones.
- Mo Noaman will take on the 3-meter and platform dives.
- Daniel Baltes, Mario McDonald, Evan Fentress and Pete Krusinski will serve as relay alternates.
