Ohio State Takes Fourth at U.S. Collegiate Championships

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State synchronized (artistic) swimming team took fourth at the 2024 U.S. Collegiate Championships. Ohio State won one technical category title and earned seven top-10 finishes in routine categories at the meet.
Emily Armstrong started the meet strong for the Buckeyes with a win in A Figures. The figures title is her second of her three-year Buckeye career. She won the title in her first year and finished second at last season's national championship meet.
Ohio State's top finishers in the remaining elements were second place results from Maddie Romney in B Figures and Venice Shoda in C Figures.
Armstrong continued the meet with a fifth-place finish in solo. In duet, Daniella Molano Arango and Gabriella Molano Arango took fifth in their first national championship meet, followed by Armstrong and Hannah Heffernan in sixth. Armstrong, Heffernan and Emma Spott's trio led the Buckeyes with a sixth-place result and in eighth place for Ohio State was the Molano Arango sisters and Taylor Sullivan. Ohio State's Scarlet team routine of Victoria Carlson, Charlotte Gray, Hannah Heffernan, Daniella Molano Arango, Gabriella Molano Arango, Maddie Romney, Emma Spott and Taylor Sullivan finished sixth overall and the Gray routine of Rikki Evans, Lilly Ortiz, Angelie Roger, Venice Shoda and Carol Walsh earned an honorary ninth-place result.
