#2 Ohio State Hosts #7 Duke in NCAA Second Round Sunday

The Buckeyes and Blue Devils will face each other in the second round of the NCAA Tournament on Sunday at noon.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 7/9 and #2 seed Ohio State women's basketball team (26-5, 16-2 B1G) hosts RV/- and #7 seed Duke (21-11, 11-7 ACC) on Sunday in the second round of the NCAA Tournament inside the Schottenstein Center. The game will be broadcast on ESPN and 97.1FM with tip-off scheduled for 12 p.m. ET.

The game will be broadcast on ESPN and 97.1FM with tip-off scheduled for 12 p.m. ET.
- Ohio State beat Maine by an 80-57 margin in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday. OSU's defense tallied 11 steals and forced 22 turnovers.
- The Buckeyes had four double-figure scorers - Jacy Sheldon (19), Cotie McMahon (13), Taylor Thierry (12) and Celeste Taylor (12). Taylor had a balanced game, adding six rebounds, six steals and five assists.
- Sheldon surpassed 2,000 career points and moved into seventh on the Buckeyes' all-time leading scoring list. Rebeka Mikulášiková and Thierry each recorded their 500th career rebound on Friday as well.
- Ohio State earned a #2 seed in the 2024 NCAA Tournament, hosting games for the second-straight season and the 14th time overall. This is OSU's 15th time as a top-four seed and first time as a #2 seed since the 2010 tournament.
- This is the Buckeyes' 28th NCAA Tournament appearance as Ohio State is 32-27 in the big dance.
- RV/- Duke enters the second round with a 21-11 record and finished the regular season 11-7 in ACC games.
- The Blue Devils beat #10 seed Richmond 72-61 in the first round on Friday. Duke beat Georgia Tech 70-58 in its first ACC Tournament game but fell to No. 10 NC State 54-51 in the quarterfinals.
- Oluchi Okananwa was named ACC Sixth Player of the Year, while Reigan Richardson earned a spot on the All-ACC Second Team.
- Richardson leads the Duke offense with 11.9 points per game this season, while Okananwa is averaging a team-high 6.3 rebounds per game.
- Ohio State trails 2-0 in the all-time series against Duke. This is the first time the teams will meet in Columbus.
- The Blue Devils previously earned an 83-67 win on Dec. 3, 2009 and a 69-60 win on Nov. 30, 2017 with both meetings coming in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge in Durham.
