
Buckeyes Rebound with 6-1 Win at No. 12 Texas A&M

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Coming off its first loss of the season, No. 1 Ohio State rebounded with a solid 6-1 win at No. 12 Texas A&M on Wednesday in College Station.
The Buckeyes are now 17-1 on the year while A&M falls to 14-4.
The doubles point was another close one. Texas A&M won the first match on court one 6-2 but Cannon Kingsley and JJ Tracy even the point with a 6-4 win on court three. Robert Cash and Bryce Nakashima battled Luke Casper and JC Roddick into a tiebreaker on court two and the Buckeye duo dominated in the breaker, winning 7-2, to give the Buckeyes the point.
A&M claimed the first singles win as Roddick beat Kingsley 6-2, 6-4 on court two. Alexander Bernard remained unblemished this spring as he rolled past Casper 6-4, 6-3 on court six to put the Buckeyes in front 2-1. Cash made the score 3-1 with his 6-3, 7-6(3) win on court five and then the clinching point came from Jack Anthrop on court four. The Orlando, Fla., native won the first set in a tiebreak and then came back late in the second set to win 7-5 and give the Buckeyes their 17th win of the season.
Justin Boulais dropped the opening set to No. 36 Raphael Perot on court one, but he rebounded to win the second set 7-5 and then rolled to a 6-1 win in the third. JJ Tracy won his first set over Togan Tokac 6-3 and then fell in a long second-set tiebreaker 13-11 to force a super set to decide the match. He got the upper hand toward the end and won the set 10-7 to provide the final point.
The Buckeyes will complete their road swing with a non-conference match on Sunday at rival Michigan. The match is scheduled for a 3 p.m. first serve.
