COLUMBUS, Ohio – Two more Buckeyes have punched their tickets to the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics. Current and former Ohio State synchronized (artistic) swimmers Nikki Dzurko ('23) and Ruby Remati will compete with Team USA artistic swimming at the games after qualifying in the team and duet routines.
The Buckeye duo helped the United States qualify as a team at the World Aquatics Championships in Doha, Qatar this week. The team needed to finish top five after aggregating free team, technical team and acrobatic team scores. Dzurko competed in the acrobatic routine that earned a bronze medal and Remati competed in the technical routine that finished fourth. After the free routine earned a bronze medal this morning, Team USA clinched the Olympic spot for the first time in 16 years.
Remati also earned qualification in the duet category at the Pan American Games in the fall. She won a silver medal at the event to secure Olympic qualification.
Paris is the first Olympics both athletes will compete at. Remati previously served as a duet alternate at the 2020 Olympics.
