Harris, Hodges Win B1G Weekly Awards

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State's Payton Harris and Ella Hodges received Big Ten weekly awards for their performance in competition last week. The conference announced Tuesday Harris as the co-Gymnast of the Week and Hodges as the co-Specialist of the Week.

Payton Harris picks up her third gymnast of the week title of the season after winning the all-around in both of the Buckeyes' meets last week. She scored a 39.525 against Illinois and finished with a 39.425 against Maryland. In addition to her all-around titles, she tied for first on uneven bars against the Illini and won the beam title against the Terrapins.

The Franklin, Wis. native scored three 9.900s last week with a 9.900 on floor and beam at Maryland and a 9.900 on uneven bars against Illinois.

Hodges picked up floor event titles in both meets last week, scoring a 9.925 against Illinois and a 9.950 against Maryland. She also won the beam title against the Illini with a 9.925 on beam. She added a 9.875 on beam against the Terrapins.

Hodges has scored at least a 9.925 on floor in every meet this season, including three career high tying 9.950's. She ranks fourth nationally on the apparatus.

Ohio State competes in a dual against Penn State Friday night at the Covelli Center. The meet starts at 6:30 p.m. and tickets can be HERE. The meet will also be streamed on B1G+ (subscription required).
