COLUMBUS, Ohio – Week in and week out, Buckeye student-athletes raise the standard of excellence set at Ohio State, whether that be in competition, in the classroom, or in the community. 'Buckeye Spotlight' recognizes student-athletes who had noteworthy accomplishments both in contests and beyond the box score.

- Henry Blake earned his first career win in his first career start in Saturday's season opener against Utah.
- He made 10 saves on the day to help the Buckeyes defeat the Utes, 11-8.
- Blake held Utah to just two goals in the second half to help the team start the year 1-0.
- Jenna Buglioni scored a program record two shorthanded goals in Saturday's 9-1 win over Bemidji State.
- She helped the Buckeyes score a program record three shorthanded goals in the game, including a program record two shorthanded goals in the second period.
- Buglioni leads the team with three shorthanded goals on the year, which ties for second in the Ohio State record book for shorthanded goals in a season.
- In the Northwestern Duals, Cervantes led the Buckeyes with a 12-1 record. The Buckeye men were 6-1 in the event as a team.
- Saturday, the senior was 5-0, going 3-0 vs. Stanford and 2-0 against Wayne State. Sunday he posted a 5-1 mark, with a 3-0 record against Incarnate Word, winning two bouts vs. both Lawrence and UCSD.
- The 2020 Olympian is 21-16 in dual matches this year.
- Next up, Ohio State will host the Central Collegiate Fencing Championships Feb. 24-25 in French Field House. After the NCAA Regional March 9 in Cleveland, the NCAA Championships will be held in Columbus March 21-24 in French Field House and St. John Arena.
- No. 22 Luke Geog earned a decision over No. 12 John Poznanski of Rutgers, 4-3, Sunday
- The win was the first of three upset wins to help in a 22-12 win over Rutgers
- Ohio State's Nick Feldman upset No. 7 Yaraslau Slavikouski at heavyweight before Brendan McCrone took down No. 13 Dean Peterson (125)
- Geog improved to 19-8 on the year and 4-1 in the Big Ten. The win over Poznanski was his second win over a ranked opponent this year
- Ohio State plays host to Indiana at noon Sunday in the final home dual (Senior Day) of the year
- Hannah Heffernan won the solo category at Saturday's Jesscia C. Beck Memorial Invite.
- She posted a score of 176.5395 to lead the category and pick up her first collegiate win in the category.
- Heffernan also competed in duet and trio at Saturday's meet, taking third in both.
- Mazur dropped just one bout, with 17 victories, over the weekend in the Northwestern Duals.
- The epeeist was 9-0 Saturday, with sweeps against Wayne State, Incarnate Word and Stanford. Sunday, Mazur was 3-0 vs. both UCSD and Cornell and posted a 2-1 mark vs. Northwestern.
- This year, Mazur is 47-18 in dual events, leading the epee squad and ranking second for the Buckeye women.
- The event wrapped up the regular season for the Buckeyes. Ohio State will host the Central Collegiate Fencing Championships Feb. 24-25 in French Field House and the NCAA Championships March 21-24 in French Field House and St. John Arena.
- Aniya Mosley competed in the 800m championship at the Notre Dame Meyo Invite on Saturday, finishing fourth with a time that ranks second in program history (2:04.75), just 0.44 seconds shy of the program record.
- The time puts her in the top-25 in the country in the 800m.
- Cantos Siemers was a team-best 4-0 last weekend as the Buckeyes posted home victories against Top 20 foes Duke and UCLA.
- Friday she tied the program record for career singles wins and Sunday she broke the mark. She is 113-43 in her Ohio State career.
- She posted straight-set singles wins on court one and partnered with Audrey Spencer for a pair of doubles victories on court two.
- This week, Canto Siemers and the 5-1 Buckeyes are heading to Seattle for the ITA National Team Indoor Championship.
- Zach Snyder earned his first collegiate win this past weekend at No. 2 Oklahoma and against Arizona State in a tri meet and had a career-high score on each of his two events.
- Snyder tied for the win on vault with a career-high 15.000 and the stick. He also earned a career-high 13.800 on floor. Snyder's scores contributed to season-high team scores on both of those events for the Buckeyes.
- He ranks sixth in the country on vault with an average score of 14.633. He was named Big Ten Co-Freshman of the Week on Monday.
- Hit .733 with 11 kills, 15 swings and no errors in first Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association win of the season.
- Was one of four Buckeyes with 10 or more kills in 3-1 win over Lindenwood Sunday.
- Had five-consecutive kills to set up match point in the fourth set.
- Leads the Buckeyes in hitting this year at .512.
- The Buckeyes are on the road at Lewis Wednesday and Loyola Chicago Friday in MIVA play.
