Buckeyes Defeat Arizona State, Fall to USC on Day One in California

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women's golf team split its matches on the first day of the Therese Hession Regional Challenge, bouncing back to defeat No. 24 Arizona State, 2-1-1, in round two after falling to No. 5 USC in round one.
The Buckeyes fell to the Trojans, 3-1-1, in their first match of the day. Jillian Bourdage earned a victory, winning her match, 2&1. Caley McGinty finished her match against the Trojans in a tie. Kary Hollenbaugh was defeated, 3&2. Faith Choi fell to USC, 2&1, and Kailia Vongsaga was defeated, 4&2.
Against Arizona State, Hollenbaugh and Vongsaga each earned victories. Hollenbaugh won 1UP and Vongsaga won 2UP. Choi and Bourdage's matches ended in ties and McGinty fell to her opponent, 4&3.
Emily Hummer competed as an individual, winning both her matches of the day, defeating players from USC and South Carolina. Kavya Ajjarapu, also competing as an individual, fell in both of her matches on the day.
Round three will get underway with a shotgun start at 10:30 a.m. ET on Sunday, Feb. 4. The Buckeyes will play against Baylor.
