Stone Selected B1G Freshman of the Week

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Kampbell Stone, a midfielder on the Ohio State women's lacrosse team, has been named Big Ten Freshman of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.

In two Buckeye wins combined last weekend, the native of Upper Arlington, Ohio, and Upper Arlington High School product had three goals and a team-best nine draw control. She also recorded a caused turnover and had six shots.

Friday vs. Robert Morris, Stone was first for the Buckeyes with five draw controls, notched her first career goal unassisted and had a caused turnover. Against Kent State Sunday, Stone had a goal in both the first and second quarters and recorded four draw controls.

Stone and the Buckeyes (2-0) will play their next three games away from Columbus. After staying instate for matchups vs. Youngstown State (0-1) Friday and Akron (0-2) Sunday, Ohio State will travel for a game at No. 4 Denver Feb. 23. The next home game is at noon March 2 vs. Butler in Ohio State Lacrosse Stadium. Admission and parking are free to all regular season games in the stadium.
