COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 15 Ohio State men's hockey team improved to 7-0-1 on the year with a 6-2 victory over Lake Superior State Saturday in Value City Arena. Ohio State led 1-0 after the first period and stretched the lead to 5-0 before the Lakers got on the board with eight seconds left in the second. LSSU (1-5-0) tallied early in the third but a Buckeye shorthanded empty net goal late closed out the win.

Riley Thompson led the Buckeyes with three assists and four points and Davis Burnside had a goal and two helpers for a three-point night. Jake Rozzi had two points, including his first career goal and assist, and Gunnarwolfe Fontaine had two helpers in the win.

- Buckeye Ryan Gordon scored the lone goal of the first period at 2:31, tallying on a backhand from in front. Brent Johnson and Jake Rozzi assisted on the goal.
- The Buckeyes put 14 shots on goal in the first, holding the Lakers to three.
- Ohio State extended the lead to 4-0 with three goals in the first 3:27 of the second period. Davis Burnside scored on a 2-on-1 with Riley Thompson 35 seconds into the period, with Gunnarwolfe Fontaine also assisting.
- At 2:06 Jake Rozzi notched his first collegiate goal, putting in a loose puck in front, assisted by Sam Deckhut.
- Burnside recorded his second of the game at 3:27, scoring from the slot off a pass from Fontaine. Thompson had the second assist on the tally.
- Defenseman William Smith recorded his first goal of the season at 10:51, converting on a wrist shot off a Burnside pass. Thompson picked up his third assist of the period on the goal.
- The Lakers got on the board at 19:52 of the second when Carter Batchelder tallied and Timo Bakos scored 1:19 into the third for a 5-2 game.
