COLUMBUS, Ohio – Robert Cash and JJ Tracy have continued their strong season as they collected another professional doubles title, winning the Drummondville Challenger last week.
The duo didn't drop a set in their four matches as they continue to climb in the world rankings. The championship match was a fun one as they battled familiar foes Liam Draxl and Cleeve Harper. Cash and Tracy won the opening set 6-2 and then claimed the title with a 6-4 win in the second.
Since winning the NCAA Championship in May, the former Buckeyes have won three professional titles together and have reached the final in two other events. They also won a match in their US Open debuts in August.
Tracy also claimed two other doubles titles early in the summer and he is now up to a career-best 138 in this week's ATP world rankings. Cash too, has risen to a career-high 147 in the ATP rankings.
Fellow national champion James Trotter has also had a good run as of late. He won the singles title at the Charlottesville Challenger three weeks ago, reached quarterfinals in Knoxville two weeks ago and last week, made a run to the semifinals in Drummondville. He has five wins over Top 200 ranked players in the last three weeks and is currently ranked No. 152 in the world rankings.
