Weekly highlight of the Buckeye student-athletes behind the major moments in Ohio State Athletics
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Week in and week out, Buckeyes raise the standard of excellence set at Ohio State, whether that be in competition, in the classroom or in the community. 'Buckeye Spotlight' recognizes Buckeye student-athletes who had noteworthy accomplishments both in contests and beyond the box score.

- Assisted on the first and scored the second goal in Ohio State's 2-0 win over Northwestern
- Leads the No. 1 Buckeyes in goals (8) and assists (9)
- Tops among all Big Ten players this year in total points with 25
- Will play his final regular-season home match with six classmates Tuesday (6 p.m./BTN)
- Eberly stopped all 22 shots he faced in a 2-0 win at Bowling Green Saturday for his first career shutout. He had seven saves in the first period and six in the second before stopping another nine in the third to seal the win.
- The victory gave the Buckeyes a sweep of the Falcons and moved the squad's record to 5-0-1 on the year.
- Eberly is 3-0-0 this season, with a 1.00 goals-against average and .962 save percentage, ranking among the NCAA leaders in all three categories.
- Pineda Vazquez was the winner of both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives in the Buckeyes' 180-115 victory over Denison last week.
- On the 1-meter, she scored a 339.30 and on the 3-meter she had an aggregate score of 341.10.
- Both of her scores qualify her for NCAA Zones.
- Secreto earned her first start in goal for the Buckeye women's hockey team Friday in the Ice Breaker Tournament.
- The junior netminder earned her first career win as the Buckeyes defeated Stonehill, 11-0, to advance to the tournament's championship game.
- She finished the game with nine saves, including a penalty shot save, to earn the first shutout of her career.
- Cody led the Buckeye defense in tackles for the second consecutive week with eight in the win over Nebraska.
- Also had a career-high three tackles-for-loss, including two consecutive on Nebraska's final drive to help clinch the win.
- He is second on the team in tackles with 33 and fourth with 4.0 TFLs, and he is also the team leader with four pass break-ups.
- Cody wears the coveted Block O jersey because of his toughness, accountability and outstanding character, and in honor of Bill Willis.
- He is also Ohio State's nominee for the national Jason Witten Man of the Year award.
- Vilchez earned his first collegiate wins last week as the Buckeyes defeated Denison, 182-116.
- Vilchez picked up his first victory of the meet in the 500 free, finishing in 4:28.20. He finished nine seconds ahead of the second-place swimmer.
- He also won the 100 fly with a time of 49.76, which was just 34 milliseconds behind the first-place finisher.
- Vilchez placed third in the 100 free with a time of 45.62.
