Buckeyes Face Boilermakers in West Lafayette Wednesday

Ohio State and Purdue will face each other for the first and only time this season on Wednesday night.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women's volleyball team (8-10, 1-7 B1G) travels to West Lafayette for a mid-week match at No. 10 Purdue (15-4, 6-2 B1G) on Wednesday. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. and the match will be broadcast live on BTN.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women's volleyball team (8-10, 1-7 B1G) travels to West Lafayette for a mid-week match at No. 10 Purdue (15-4, 6-2 B1G) on Wednesday. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. and the match will be broadcast live on BTN.
- Ohio State fell to No. 3 Penn State (25-20, 23-25, 16-25, 25-18, 14-16) late on Friday night and No. 2 Nebraska (18-25, 18-25, 16-25) on Saturday afternoon this past weekend to begin a stretch of four-consecutive ranked opponents.
- Against PSU, Emmi Sellman totaled a career-high 27 kills. She's the first Buckeye freshman since Audra Appold in 2015 to record 27+ kills in a match. Appold totaled 29 kills against Iowa in 2015. Sellman and Appold are the only Buckeye freshmen since Stacey Gordon in 2001 to record 27+ kills in a match.
- Against Nebraska, Rylee Rader became the 26th player in program history to reach 1,000 career kills.
- No. 10 Purdue holds a 15-4 record this season and is 6-2 in conference play. The Boilermakers have B1G wins against then No. 16 Minnesota, Northwestern, Michigan State, Iowa, UCLA and Indiana and have lost against then No. 4 Penn State and No. 2 Nebraska.
- Purdue beat then No. 10 Kentucky during the non-conference season but lost to then No. 9 Creighton and No. 10 Kansas.
- Eva Hudson leads the Purdue offense and ranks fourth in the Big Ten with 4.31 kills/set, while Taylor Anderson is third in the B1G with 10.80 assists/set. Defensively, Raven Colvin leads the Big Ten with 1.63 blocks/set and Ali Hornung is seventh in the conference in digs/set (3.89).
- Ohio State trails 46-47 in the all-time series with Purdue. The Buckeyes are 16-24 when facing the Boilermakers in West Lafayette.
- Last season, the Buckeyes fell to No. 15 Purdue in four sets (19-25, 25-17, 21-25, 26-28) in Columbus on Oct. 15. Emily Londot led the match with 26 kills, while Kaitlyn Hoffman led all players with 18 digs.
- The Buckeyes' most recent victory in West Lafayette was on Nov. 10, 2022 in four sets (25-14, 23-25, 25-16, 25-13) when the Boilermakers were ranked No. 15. Londot also led that match with 19 kills.
