
Buckeyes Card Two Under-Par Rounds on Day One in San Marcos

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women's golf team carded two under-par rounds at the Jim West Challenge on Sunday and is tied for fourth place going into the final round on Monday.
The Buckeyes shot a four-under 284 in round one and a one-under 287 in round two. The team has a total score of 571 (-5) through 36 holes. Ohio State shot even on par 4s, which was third-best among the field of 12 teams. The team totaled 40 birdies, which was tied for fourth-most.
Faith Choi and Nellie Ong led the Buckeyes; they are tied for seventh place. Choi and Ong each fired a two-under 70 in rounds one and two for a 36-hole score of 140 (-4). Ong was five-under on par 4s, which was tied for third-best among the field of 68 players. Choi led the Buckeyes in birdies with 10 on the day. Ong had nine birdies.
Kavya Ajjarapu carded rounds of 73 (+1) and 72 (E). She is tied for 29th place with a 36-hole score of 145 (+1). Ajjarapu recorded her first career eagle during the second round of play, on the fifth hole. She totaled eight birdies on the day.
Kary Hollenbaugh is tied for 35th place; she shot 147 (+3) over two rounds. Hollenbaugh shot an even 72 in round one and a 75 (+3) in round two. Hollenbaugh shot one-under on par 3s, which was tied for second-best among the field of players. She birdied six holes on Sunday.
Marina Joyce-Moreno finished the day with a total score of 148 (+4) and is tied for 38th place. She shot even (72) in the first round and 76 (+4) in the second round and birdied seven holes.
Mandy Song, who is competing as an individual, is in 48th place. She shot 77 (+5) in round one and 73 (+1) in round two for a total score of 150 (+6).
