
No. 15 Buckeyes Fall Late 1-0 to No. 9 USC

COLUMBUS, Ohio – In a well-played game between two good teams, No. 9 USC was able to score off a late penalty kick in the 83rd and topped No. 15 Ohio State 1-0 at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles on Thursday night.
Kailyn Dudukovich had a great chance in the first half but the play was deemed offside after she found the back of the net.
Goalkeeper Molly Pritchard made six saves on the night, including a save on the penalty kick.
How it Happened
The first half went scoreless as neither team was able to generate much of a scoring chance. The best opportunity for the Buckeyes was early in the game as Ella Giannola found Kailyn Dudukovich deep in the box. She turned and slipped the ball past the keeper but after review, it was determined that she was offside.
Neiter team had much of a scoring opportunity until the 83rd minute when USC took a shot from the took of the box. A hard challenge from OSU resulted in a VAR review and then it was deemed a foul inside the box. The subsequent PK was saved by Molly Pritchard, but the rebound was hammered right back into the net and the Trojans grabbed a 1-0 lead.
The Buckeyes weren’t able to find the equalizer in the final moments and fell 1-0.

The Buckeyes will remain in Los Angeles for the weekend and will face No. 10 UCLA on Sunday afternoon. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. on B1G+.
