Buckeyes Open Homestand with Series vs. No. 12 Wolverines

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Ohio State men's hockey team is back in Columbus and will open a homestand with a two-game Big Ten series vs. No. 12 Michigan this weekend. The Buckeyes and Wolverines will meet at 7 p.m. Friday and 8 p.m. Saturday in Value City Arena.Â
Game one will be streamed through Big Ten Plus, with game two televised by BTN and available on the Fox Sports app. Ohio State Radio will carry both games on 1460 AM and the Ohio State Buckeyes app and live statistics will be available through OhioStateBuckeyes.com.Â
Fans are encouraged to Wear Scarlet and pom poms will be handed out to fans both nights. A trapper hat giveaway for Ohio State students is set for Friday.
Tickets are available online HERE and parking is free around the arena on game night.Â

Buckeye Notes to Know
- The Buckeyes and Wolverines met to open Big Ten play in Ann Arbor Oct. 20-21. Michigan took game one 7-1 before a 2-2 overtime tie and Ohio State shootout win.
- The last game in Columbus was Feb. 16, 2023, with the teams tying 3-3 and Ohio State winning the shootout. That series finale was a 4-2 Buckeye victory outside in Cleveland Browns Stadium Feb. 18, 2023.Â
- Sophomore forward Stephen Halliday, the Buckeyes' leader in assists (18) and points (27), and fifth-year defenseman Scooter, who is tied with Halliday for first with nine goals and ranks third with 18 points, are on the Hobey Baker Award fan ballot. (VOTE HERE)
- This season, 22 of 23 Buckeye skaters have gotten on the scoresheet, including 20 goal scorers. Freshman defenseman William Smith notched his first collegiate goal last weekend at Penn State. Â
- The series vs. Michigan begins a set of back-to-back home series for the Buckeyes, with an open weekend in the middle. Ohio State will welcome Wisconsin Feb. 23-24. After a series at Michigan State February, the regular season ends in Columbus vs. Penn State March 1-2.
- Alum Dave Caruso is in his second stint as a goaltending consultant for the Buckeyes this season. He was part of the Team USA staff that coached the United States to the gold medal at the Youth Winter Olympics in South Korea this week.Â

- Ohio State is 22-for-95 (.232) on the power play this season, ranking 16th nationally.
- In the nine games since returning from break, the Buckeyes have 10 power play goals on 29 chances (.345). Â Â
- For the year, Patrick Guzzo has a team-best five power play goals, while Scooter Brickey and Stephen Halliday each have four. Cam Thiesing, Theo Wallberg and Caden Brown each have two. Davis Burnside, Thomas Weis and Michael Gildon have also scored on the power play.Â
- Halliday and Wallberg each have eight power play assists to lead the squad. Halliday has a team-best 12 power play points, with Brickey and Wallberg tied for second (10).
- In all, 14 Buckeyes have at least one point on the man advantage.Â
- Ohio State and Michigan faced off for the first time in 1964 and after games in 1969-70, 1974-75 and 1978-79, have met at least once each season since 1981-82 when Michigan joined Ohio State in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association.
