
Ohio State Sets Records, Starts Spring Semester Strong at TCU

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State University rifle team competed in a pair of matches over the Martin Luther King Day weekend at TCU in Fort Worth, Texas.
On Sunday, the Buckeyes posted a team score of 4699 led by Viktor Kiss who fired a team record aggregate score of 1188 (592 smallbore, 596 air rifle).
In smallbore, Ohio State fired a team score of 2329 led by scoring team members Viktor Kiss (592), Derek Keiser (584), Lillian Warren (578), Adrienne Hanson (575), and Paige Hollowell (573). Nathan Wehrlen (579) led the way for Ohio State's individuals with Dylan Gregory (575) rounding out individual scoring.
In air rifle, Ohio State had a team score of 2370 led by scoring team members Viktor Kiss (596), Paige Hollowell (594), Derek Keiser (594), John Hamilton (586), and Adrienne Hanson (581). Dylan Gregory equaled his season best with a score of 589 to lead individual scoring with Nathan Wehrlen rounding out individual scoring with a 582.
On Monday, Ohio State equaled the program record aggregate score of 4715 and set a new program record in air rifle with a team score of 2378.
In smallbore, the team fired a score of 2337 led by Viktor Kiss who fired a score of 590. Derek Keise (584), Lillian Warren (582), Paige Hollowell (581), and Adrienne Hanson (581) rounded out a very strong overall performance for the team. Dylan Gregory (577) and Nathan Wehrlen (576) rounded out Ohio State's individuals.
In air rifle, Ohio State set a new program record with a score of 2378. The team was led by Lillian Warren and Adrienne Hanson who both fired career best scores of 596 and 593 respectively. Derek Keiser fired a 595, Viktor Kiss a 594, and Paige Hollowell a 590 to complete team scoring. Nathan Wehrlen fired a 573 while Dylan Gregory again equaled his personal best with a 589 to round out the record day.
Coach Tanoue: "The team was really able to perform at a high level immediately out of the gate in the new year and it was fantastic to see individual, personal, and team records fall over the weekend. We have a lot of opportunities still in front of us and it will be great to see the entire team back in action on Sunday in Converse Hall."
The team returns to action on Sunday, January 21 against TCU.
