
No. 14 Ohio State Opens 2026-27 Season on the Road vs. Ole Miss and UT Martin

This is the team's first trip to Oxford since Ole Miss joined the PRC
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State rifle team opened its 2026-27 season against Ole Miss (4711) and UT Martin (4597) in Oxford, Mississippi. Â
The team fired a total score of 4651, led by Mackenzie Pruden, who finished with an aggregate score of 1168.Â
In smallbore, the team put up a score of 2309 led by sophomore Mackenzie Pruden, who finished with a 581. Riley Dunn (578), Natalie Samson (578), Ella Sprague (572) and Ally Wodka (569) rounded out scoring. Summer Lytle led the way for the individuals with a 572 and freshman Annika Cry finished with a 562. Â
In air rifle, the Buckeyes totaled 2342, led by a 588 from freshman Ally Wodka. Mackenzie Pruden (587), Ella Sprague (585), Annika Cry (582) and Riley Dunn (582) counted toward the team's score. Freshman Natalie Samson led individual scoring with a 587. Emily Valenta (581) and Summer Lytle (576) also shot as individuals. Â
Coach Tanoue on the match: "It was great to get our season underway today on the road at Ole Miss. It was also nice to see our three freshman get their Ohio State careers underway. Performance wise there were some good things but of course things to continue to work on and improve, but I thought that the team did a great job of handling the travel and match conditions, and this experience is going to help us to grow and learn as we head home for two matches next weekend."
