Weekly highlight of the student-athletes behind the major moments in Ohio State Athletics
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Week in and week out, Buckeye student-athletes raise the standard of excellence set at Ohio State, whether that be in competition, in the classroom or in the community. 'Buckeye Spotlight' recognizes student-athletes who had noteworthy accomplishments both in contests and beyond the box score.
Kailyn Dudukovich | Women's Soccer | Jr. | West Chester, Ohio
- Kailyn scored a pair of goals and added an assist in the Buckeyes' 6-0 win over Oakland last Thursday evening
- This was her second such game this season as she also had two goals and an assist in the season-opening win against Miami (Ohio)
- Dudukovich leads the team with five goals and two assists on the season. Her career-high for goals in a season is seven
- She now has 19 goals in her career and her next shot attempt will be the 100th of her career
Sydney Taylor | Women's Volleyball | Jr. | Clintonville, Ohio
- Junior libero and captain Sydney Taylor led the Buckeyes' back row defense this past weekend in a pair of ranked matches. She averaged 4.13 digs per set (33 total digs) to lead the team and also led non-setters in assists (8).
- On Friday, Taylor totaled 14 digs (one shy of her previous career-high) and had a career-high four assists. She also registered a kill on a single attempt.
- Taylor increased her production on Saturday, recording a career-high 19 digs in four sets and tying her career-high four assists.
Brenna Bough | Field Hockey | Fr. | Whitney Point, N.Y.
- Bough was instrumental in each of Ohio State's wins last weekend at home vs. New Hampshire, Bucknell and UC Davis.
- In a victory on Friday against New Hampshire, she assisted on the second goal of the game that gave Ohio State a 2-1 lead.
- On Monday, she scored her first two collegiate goals as the Buckeyes shut out UC Davis, 5-0.
- Through five games, Bough is second on the team with six points (two goals, two assists).
Ashton Bilow | Men's Soccer | So. | New Albany, Ohio
- Made his second career start vs. No. 22 Washington
- Put the Buckeyes on the board with a goal in the 60' vs. the Huskies
- Has made 17 career appearances in Scarlet and Gray
Zubin Jha | Men's Cross Country | Sr. | Worthington, Ohio
- Jha paced the Buckeyes to the team title at the Wright State Mike Baumer Cross Country Classic in Dayton last Friday night
- He finished the 5k third in a time of 14:52.0, less than seven seconds behind the winner, bettering his PR, set at the same race last season (15:35.1)
- An Academic All-Big ten honoree, Jha has been among the Buckeyes' Top 5 finishers in seven of his last eight races.
Aniya Mosley | Women's Cross Country | So. | Virginia Beach, Va.
- Mosley had an outstanding race Friday in the season-opener at the Wright State Mike Baumer Cross Country Classic in Dayton, finishing third in a PR time of 17:34.6
- The race was just her second in the Scarlet and Gray and her time was three minutes faster than her collegiate debut a season ago in the same race
- Mosley was one of eight Buckeyes in the Top 10, as Ohio State claimed the team title for the second year in a row
- The Ohio State Scholar-Athlete is also a track standout and ran the two fastet 800m times for the Ohio State women in the indoor season as a freshman last year
