Fans are encouraged to arrive early for a block party with women's soccer prior to the match (starting at 10:30 a.m.) and stay after the match for a meet and greet with the Buckeyes. The block party will feature inflatables and food trucks. The Buckeyes will honor alumnae during the match.

- Ohio State enters the match with a 4-8 record this season and a 1-2 record in Big Ten play after falling to No. 1 Wisconsin (19-25, 20-25, 18-25) on Wednesday night in the Big Ten home opener. OSU has played eight matches vs. ranked opponents this season (five against top-10).Â
- Senior Emily Londot continues to lead Ohio State's offense as she leads the conference in kills/set (4.73) and is third in points/set (5.13), ranking in the top-11 in the country in both categories as of Wednesday. Freshman Mia Tuman ranks sixth in the Big Ten in assists/set (9.40).
- Freshman Kaitlyn Hoffman has excelled after stepping into the libero role and is now averaging 3.21 digs/set, while freshman Eloise Brandewie leads the Buckeye block with 30 total (0.68 blocks/set).
- Maryland enters the match with a 12-3 overall record and is 2-1 in Big Ten play after beating Rutgers in four sets (25-19, 25-14, 15-25, 25-18) on Wednesday. The Terrapins opened B1G play losing to then No. 19 Purdue (20-25, 23-25, 25-17, 11-25) and sweeping Michigan (25-20, 25-12, 25-21).
- Samantha Schnitta and Laila Ivey lead the Terps offense with 2.84 and 2.49 kills/set, respectively. Sydney Dowler ranks third in the conference with 9.96 assists/set.
- Lilly Gunter leads Maryland's back-row defense and ranks seventh in the Big Ten with 3.46 digs/set. Eva Rohrbach (1.24/set) and Anastasia Russ (1.20/set) both rank in the top-10 in the Big Ten in blocking.Â
- Ohio State leads 16-6 in the all-time series against Maryland and is 10-1 when facing the Terrapins in Columbus.
- This is the first meeting of the season for the two teams.
- Last season, the teams played only once with Ohio State falling in four sets (25-16, 15-25, 18-25, 18-25) in College Park in mid-November. This broke a five-match winning streak for the Buckeyes against the Terrapins.
