COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohio State (3-4-2, 1-2-0) earned a 2-0 Big Ten Conference win at Rutgers (2-5-2, 0-2-1) on a cool and rainy night Friday at Yurcak Field in Piscataway, New Jersey.

How it Happened
Ohio State's Michael Adedokun was fouled by the Rutgers keeper resulting in a penalty kick for the Buckeyes in the 34^th minute. All-American Laurence Wootton stepped up to take the penalty kick and scored in the bottom right of the Scarlet Knight goal for the 1-0 lead for the Buckeyes.

It was the third goal of the season for Wootton and his 15^th career score. He also has six career goals on penalty kicks and seven all-time game-winning scores.

Ohio State added a goal in the 60' on a well-executed corner off the foot of Parker Grinstead that was headed in by Marko Borkovic for the 2-0 Ohio State lead.

It was the first goal of the season for Borkovic and third as a Buckeye. It was the first point of the season for Grinstead and his sixth career assist.

Max Trejo earned his third-career shutout between the pipes for the Buckeyes. He had two saves in the win.

Ohio State is 7-6-1 all-time against the Scarlet Knights with a 3-2-1 record in Piscataway.

The Buckeyes return home to face Xavier Oct. 3 and Michigan Oct. 6 at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. Both matches start at 7 p.m. and will be streamed live on B1G+.
