COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 22 Ohio State women's volleyball team (4-7, 1-1 B1G) hosts No. 1 Wisconsin (11-0, 2-0 B1G) in its Big Ten home opener on Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET inside the Covelli Center. The match will be broadcast live on BTN. Fans will be given scarlet pom poms upon entrance. Â
- Ohio State enters the match with a 4-7 record this season and a 1-1 record in Big Ten play after sweeping Iowa (25-22, 26-24, 25-14) on the road on Sunday. The Buckeyes played seven-consecutive ranked opponents ending the non-conference schedule and beginning the Big Ten at No. 2 Nebraska.
- Senior Emily Londot continues to lead Ohio State's offense as she leads the conference in kills/set (4.76) and is third in points/set (5.17), ranking in the top-11 in the country in both categories. Freshman Mia Tuman ranks fifth in the Big Ten in assists/set (9.73).
- Freshman Kaitlyn Hoffman has excelled after stepping into the libero role and is now averaging 3.19 digs/set, while freshman Eloise Brandewie leads the Buckeye block with 29 total (0.71 blocks/set).
- No. 1 Wisconsin is one of two unbeaten Big Ten teams, entering the match with an 11-0 overall record and a 2-0 mark in conference play. The Badgers swept both Northwestern and Indiana to open the Big Ten schedule.
- Wisconsin's ranked wins this season include then No. 15 Baylor, No. 21 Arkansas (twice), No. 24 Tennessee and No. 3 Florida.
- Sarah Franklin leads four Wisconsin players averaging more than 2.0 kills/set with 3.62 kills/set. Izzy Ashburn (5.76 assists/set) and MJ Hammill (4.85 assists/set) have been splitting setting duties.
- Julie Orzol leads the Badgers' back-row defense with 3.39 digs/set, while Carter Booth leads the team with 1.44 blocks/set.
- Ohio State trails 37-43 in the all-time series against Wisconsin and 18-19 when the teams play in Columbus.
