- Head Coach Jen Flynn Oldenburg: "I think the ability to put in some subs and them come in and be game changers for us. Kaitlyn Hoffman came in and showed she can make some plays defensively, handle a load in the serve-receive and provide a spark. This is a year that you're going to see more subs than we're used to and that's not a bad thing – it's getting that experience in high level competition that's going to make us better in the long run."
- Freshman setter Mia Tuman: "When I first got here [speaking up and leading] was scary because there are big names here, but what I love about this team is everyone wants everyone's voice. They asked me early on to give my voice, even as young as I am they want to hear it. It's been easy to speak up because we're all on the same page and they want that from me so I'm happy to give it."
- Senior outside Emily Londot: "Starting off with a strong schedule and the games coming up, it's going to prepare our team for the Big Ten and I'm excited for what the next couple weeks look like. Win or lose, we learn and we move forward from there."
