COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohio State (1-3-2, 0-1-0) fell to visiting Penn State (3-1-2, 1-0-0) 3-0 in the Big Ten Conference opener for both squads at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium Friday.

How it Happened
Penn State scored the first goal of the Big Ten season in the 13' on a breakaway unassisted score by Liam Butts.

Ohio State's Anthony Samways was issued a red card in the 30' minute putting the Buckeyes down a player for the remainder of the game.

The Buckeye defense battled, but the Nittany Lions went up 2-0 in the 60' and then added another in the 63' for the 3-0 lead. All three Penn State goals were scored by Butts.

Notes:
Peter Van Euwen, a junior from Avon Lake, Ohio, made his second start in goal for the Buckeyes.
