COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 12 Ohio State women's volleyball team (3-0) hosts No. 11 Georgia Tech (2-0) in the Buckeyes' home openers this Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 6 p.m. inside the Covelli Center. Both matches will be broadcast live on B1G+.
There will be a block party on Friday from 5:30-6:30 p.m. on Irving Schottenstein Drive with inflatables, balloon twisters, face painting and food trucks. Glow wands will be distributed to all fans on Friday. For Saturday's match, fans are asked to wear black as the Buckeyes debut their new black uniforms. After Saturday's match, the Buckeyes will host a meet and greet with the team on the concourse.

- Ohio State opened the 2023 season with three wins at the NKU Tournament last weekend, sweeping NKU and East Tennessee State and winning a gritty five-setter against Bowling Green.
- Senior Emily Londot was named Big Ten Player of the Week and freshman Mia Tuman was named Big Ten Setter of the Week.
- Londot, Tuman and sophomore Chelsea Thorpe were named to the All-Tournament Team for their play last weekend.
- The Buckeyes moved up two spots in the weekly AVCA poll and sit at No. 12.
- No. 11 Georgia Tech won both of its matches to begin the 2023 season, sweeping South Florida on the road and beating then No. 8 Penn State in four sets in Tampa.
- The Yellow Jackets moved up nine spots in the weekly AVCA poll after being ranked No. 20 in the preseason poll.
- Larissa Mendes and Bianca Bertolino led the GT offense last weekend, averaging 3.57 kills/set apiece (25 kills total), followed closely by Tamara Otene with 3.14 kills/set (22 kills). Otene (3.57 digs/set) and Bertolino (2.43 digs/set) led the back row defensive efforts, while Isabella D'Amico had an impressive weekend setting (10.57 assists/set).
- Ohio State leads 3-1 in the all-time series with Georgia Tech and will be hosting the Yellow Jackets for the first time in the series this weekend.
- The Buckeyes took the first two early meetings in the series before the teams split decisions the past two seasons.
- Last season, Ohio State won a four-set battle on the road in mid-September after Georgia Tech earned the win in the 2021 NCAA Regional Semifinals.
