
Hollenbaugh, McGinty Named B1G Players to Watch

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State women's golfers Kary Hollenbaugh and Caley McGinty have been named Big Ten Players to Watch, announced by the conference on Thursday.
Hollenbaugh, an All-Big Ten Second Team selection in 2023, enters her sophomore season in Columbus. Hollenbaugh played in 11 tournaments in 2022-23 and finished the season with a scoring average of 73.45. She had her best individual finish at the Westbrook Invitational, tying for third place and carding a season-best 54-hole score of 208 (-8). She shot a career-low 67 (-5) in the final round. Hollenbaugh also earned top-10 finishes at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational (T-9th) and at the Lady Buckeye (T-6th).
MGinty had a strong 2022-23 season for the Buckeyes, earning First Team All-Big Ten honors and Honorable Mention All-American recognition from the Women's Golf Coaches Association and GolfWeek Magazine. McGinty earned her first individual win as a Buckeye at the Westbrook Invitational; she carded three under-par rounds and finished with a 54-hole score of 207 (-9). She made program history at the Mountain View Collegiate, firing a 63 (-9) in the final round; it is the lowest 18-hole round in Ohio State women's golf history. She placed second overall at the tournament with a 54-hole total of 198 (-18), which is the second-lowest 54-hole score in program history. McGinty shot under par in 14 of her 30 rounds played during the 2022-23 season and had a scoring average of 72.33.
