
Nelson and Davenport-Mills Wrap Up Strong Showing at 2023 U.S. Gymnastics Championships

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Senior captain Kameron Nelson and freshman Chase Davenport-Mills represented the Ohio State men's gymnastics program this past weekend at the 2023 U.S. Gymnastics Championships in San Jose. View the full results of the senior men sessions HERE.
- Kameron Nelson won the vault championship by being the highest scorer to compete two different vaults, earning a 14.550 on Saturday and a 13.950 on Thursday.
- Nelson finished 21st in the all-around on Thursday (77.864). His floor (13.614), rings (13.400) and vault (13.950) all ranked in the top half of the competition. Nelson also earned a 12.750 on parallel bars, 12.200 on pommel horse and 11.950 on high bar to round out his first showing.
- Nelson finished the competition 20th in the all-around after earning a 78.103 in the second round. On Saturday, he scored 13.150 on parallel bars, 13.050 on rings, 12.803 on floor, 12.550 on high bar and 12.000 on pommel horse in addition to his 14.550 vault.
- Chase Davenport-Mills totaled 74.850 in the all-around on Thursday. His vault (14.300) was top-10 at the meet and he also finished in the top half on floor (13.550). Davenport-Mills rounded out his first day of competition with a 12.500 on rings, 12.400 on high bar, 11.900 on pommel horse and 10.200 on parallel bars.
- On Saturday, Davenport-Mills increased his all-around score to 75.150. He scored a 13.600 on floor, 13.500 on vault, 12.700 on rings, 11.900 on pommel horse, 11.800 on parallel bars and 11.650 on high bar.
