COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State hits the road for the first time this season as the Buckeyes will head to No. 17 Memphis on Thursday evening. First touch is set for 8 p.m. ET and the game will be streamed on ESPN+. Ohio State graduate Neil Sika will call the action.
- Ohio State heads out on its first road trip of the 2023 campaign this week as the Buckeyes will be at Memphis on Thursday evening and at Montana on Sunday.
- This will be the first meeting for Ohio State with either Memphis or Montana.
- Ohio State is 3-0-1 against teams currently in the AAC. The Buckeyes have wins over South Florida (2017), North Texas (2009) and Florida Atlantic (1997) as well as a 1-1 draw with UNC Charlotte in 2008.
- The Buckeyes went 1-1 over the opening weekend, beating Miami (Ohio) 3-0 in the opening and falling on a late goal to Buffalo 2-1.
- Kailyn Dudukovich had three goals in the first two games, becoming just the fourth Buckeye with three or more goals in the first two games of a season. She has 17 goals in her career.
- Senior midfielder Peyton McNamara had an assist on Dudukovich's goal on vs. Buffalo for her first point of the season. She is still settling back in off her run with the Jamaican national team in the FIFA Women's World Cup.
- Freshman Nette-Nina Hiltunen also collected her first collegiate point with an assist on Sunday.
- Memphis opened the year with a pair of solid victories. The Tigers beat Southern 6-0 in the opener and then topped Ole Miss 1-0 on Sunday.
- Ohio State has 37 wins over ranked opponents with 12 of those wins coming on the road. The last road win over a ranked foe was a 1-0 win at No. 12 Penn State on Sept. 26, 2021.
- The Buckeyes are under the direction of head coach Lori Walker-Hock who is in her 27th season with the program and her 29th overall as a head coach. She has 283 wins at Ohio State and is just four wins away from 300 in her career.
- Thursday's matchup with Memphis will feature a pair of head coaches with more than 280 career wins. Walker-Hock, who is in her 29th collegiate season, has 296 wins while Memphis' Brooks Monaghan has 281 in this his 24th career season.
