
Bach, Fulmer & Armstrong Earn Top-8 Finishes on Third Day in Indy

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – On day three of the Phillips 66 National Championships, eight Ohio State swimmers advanced to the evening's finals session and three earned top-eight finishes.
In the A final of the 50 breast, Hannah Bach earned a fifth-place finish. She swam a personal-best time, finishing in 30.76. Josie Panitz placed third in the B final of the 50 breast with a personal-best time of 31.39.
Amy Fulmer placed seventh in the A final of the 50 back, turning in a career-best time of 28.05. Nyah Funderburke took second place in the 50 back B final with a personal-best time of 28.32.
Former Buckeye Hunter Armstrong placed second in the 50 back with a time of 24.16. Armstrong is still the world record holder in the 50 back with the time of 23.71 he set last year.
In the C final of the men's 50 breast, Karl Helmuth touched the wall at 28.30. It is a career-best time for him.
Jessica Eden swam a 4:55.10 in the C final of the 400 IM and Nathan Holty turned in a time of 4:26.80 in the C final of the men's 400 IM.
The Phillips 66 National Championships continue June 30-July 1. Prelims will begin at 10:00 a.m. each day with finals following in the evening at 7:00 p.m.
